ADULT PROGRAMS

ART INSTRUCTOR/Printmaker (New this week): Full-time position available at the downtown Los Angeles Art Center studio. Instructor will work one-on-one with adult students with developmental disabilities to develop their own unique artwork for sale in our downtown gallery. This person should know a variety of printmaking techniques that can be adapted to create successful projects with our students. Responsibilities also include ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our students, and helping to maintain an overall enjoyable studio for all participants. Applicant should know how to operate and maintain a professional etching press, and be able to demonstrate their knowledge through their art portfolio. Knowledge and interest in contemporary art needed. Instructor will implement artistic, educational, and behavioral treatment plans monthly. Requirements:  Bachelor's degree and one art skill.  Valid California driver license and insurable driving record. Salary:  $9.50  - $12.83 per hour

Case Manager (New this week): This full-time position is available in Culver City.   Provide case management services which includes record keeping, advocacy, and service coordination.  Requirements: high school diploma, one year experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, special needs, learning or emotional disabilities in a direct client service position, valid California driver license and insurable driving record.  Familiarity with Regional Center system, DDS, CARF & licensing requirements helpful. Salary: $10.00 - $13.50 per hour

Developmental Instructor (New this week): This full-time position is available in Los Angeles. Responsibilities include supervising and providing individualized and group instruction to adults with varying degrees of developmental and physical disabilities at the facility and during community based activities. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent plus one year experience working with adults with special needs. Must have a valid California driver license and insurable driving record. Must have or obtain a California Class B driving license within six months of employment. Must have or obtain certification in first aid, CPR, and NCI. Salary: $9.25 - $12.49 per hour


DIAGNOSTIC AND THERAPUTIC SERVICES (DATS)

Behavior Intervention Specialist: This part-time position is available in Woodland Hills.   Work with the client, a non-verbal adolescent girl, on a 1:1 basis during the school day, assisting with daily behavior, social-emotional needs and interactions, as well as providing updated behavior reports. Use computer applications to help client communicate.  Requirements: Bachelor's degree and 6 months experience working with special needs children and knowledge of the autistic spectrum .  Must be trained in Discreet Trial Training. Salary: Commensurate with education and experience

Behavior Intervention Specialist:  This is a substitute position.  Duties will be performed at various schools in Los Angeles County.   Work with the student on a 1:1 basis during the school day, assisting with daily behavior, social-emotional needs, and interactions as well as providing updated behavior reports. Students to be served may include those on the Pervasive Developmental Spectrum, Autistic Disorder, sensory integration dysfunction, expressive/receptive speech disorders, social integration dysfunction, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, non-specific learning disorders and behavior problems. Requirements:  Bachelor's degree and 6 months experience working with special needs children and knowledge of the autistic spectrum. Salary: Commensurate with education and experience

Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA):  This part-time position in available in Los Angeles. Develop specific intervention techniques with the Behavior Specialist based on client need and in consideration of the concerns expressed by the Regional Center case worker, therapeutic staff, and parent/caregiver. Work closely with the Behavior Specialists in their provision of direct services, and provide the needed resources and guidance to assist clients, parents, and Behavior Specialists in the development and implementation of behavior protocols. Duties are performed primarily in clients' homes in the presence of the parent, caregiver, or other responsible adult. Requirements: Master's degree or Doctorate in Psychology, Social Work, Child Development or related discipline. Two years supervising others and working with special needs children in a direct service capacity (obtained by going through the BCBA licensing process.)  Knowledge of Autistic Spectrum Disorders and how to implement behavior intervention treatment programs in home-based ABA programs. Familiarity with ABA, Floor Time, Discrete Trial Training and the ability to implement a specific program designed to enhance learning, cooperation in the classroom, and peer relationships.  Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Professional demeanor with the ability to communicate effectively with teachers, clients, staff, and others. Salary: Commensurate with education and experience

 

EARLY START

Educator/Bilingual (New this week):  Full-time or part-time position available in Arleta.  Duties include overall management of the assigned classroom and/or home visits.  Select curriculum, determine measurable goals, prepare for and participate in IFSP meetings, and prepare reports.  Supervise staff and plan activities in a way that maximizes utility of staff and volunteers.  Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Psychology, Sociology, Special Education, Social Work or other human services field, 12 units in Early Childhood Education, and one year experience teaching or training and working with young children (birth to 5 years.) and their parents. Bilingual English/Spanish. Salary: $15.00 to $20.25 per hour

  

INDEPENDENT LIVING PROGRAM

Independent Living Program Administrator (New this week):  Full-time position available in Whittier.  Under supervision, manage and ensure the safe and efficient operation of the Independent Living Program.  Supervise staff, ensure compliance with regulatory agencies, act as primary liaison to Regional Center Coordinators, assist with developing and implementing an efficient intake system for residents, and oversee compliance of ECF's Injury and Illness Prevention Program at all sites.  Requirements:  High school diploma; bachelor's degree preferred.  Three years Residential, Independent Living Program, or related experience including one year ISP case management/counseling in programs for adults with varying degrees of disability.  Two years supervisory experience. Salary: Commensurate with education and experience

 

MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES

Therapist New (this week): Full-time position available in Los Angeles.   Provide individual, family and group therapy to improve the emotional and psychological well-being of children (Medi-Cal recipients) and their families who live in Los Angeles County.   Under supervision, assess the psychosocial functioning and needs of clients and their family members.  Formulate, implement, and re-evaluate a treatment plan through continuous assessment.  Conduct interventions and provide counseling and/or psychotherapy services.  Requirements: MA or MS degree in Social Work or Psychology.  Registration with the Board of Behavioral Sciences as an MFTI, or ASW.  Experience counseling at-risk children and their families and preparing Department of Mental Health documentation, preferred. Salary: Commensurate with education and experience

  

RESIDENTIAL PROGRAM

Residential Assistant (New this week) : Full-time or part-time position available in Culver City.  Under supervision, assist with ensuring the 24-hour residential home is physically maintained and the day to day needs of residents are met.  Assist the residents with personal hygiene (toileting, bathing, dressing, diaper changing, etc.), administer medications, transport residents, and write progress reports.  Requirements: High school diploma and one year directly related experience.  Good verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to transfer an adult to and from a wheelchair.  Work Schedule: To be determined. Salary:  $9:00 to $12.15 per hour

 Residential Assistant:  Full-time, split shift position available in Reseda.  Under supervision, assist with ensuring the 24-hour residential home is physically maintained and the day to day needs of residents are met.  Assist the residents with personal hygiene (toileting, bathing, dressing, diaper changing, etc.), administer medications, transport residents, and write progress reports.  Requirements: High school diploma and one year directly related experience.  Good verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to transfer an adult to and from a wheelchair.  Work Schedule:  Monday - Thursday (split shift) 6:00 am to 8:00 am and 3:30 pm to 9:30 p.m., Friday 6:00 am to 9:00 a.m. Salary:  Sleep Rate - $8.00 per hour   Awake Rate  - $9:00 to $12.15 per hour

Residential Assistant:  Part-time, overnight, sleep position available in Reseda.  Sleep Shift - Sofa bed will be available for sleeping.  In case of emergency, sleep staff will be awakened to assist with resident needs (toileting, illness).  Staff will be paid at the awake rate for the time spent assisting with resident's care.  Awake Shift - Staff will be checking residents hourly and documenting observations on the data collection form.  The awake, overnight staff will complete cleaning duties as posted at the house.  May need to assist residents with toileting and hygiene needs.  Requirements: High school diploma and one year directly related experience.  Good verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to transfer an adult to and from a wheelchair. Work Schedule:  Saturday/Sunday - 10:00 pm to 6:00 am (16 hours total). Salary:  Sleep Rate - $8.00 per hour   Awake Rate  - $9:00 to $12.15 per hour
