Developmental Activity Center
The Developmental Activity Center (DAC) offers a five-day-a-week program for adults with moderate to profound developmental disabilities, including intellectual disability, Down syndrome, autism, cerebral palsy, and traumatic brain injury.
The program provides training in self-help, vocational, recreational, and social skills, all with respect for each individual’s ability level. A Certified Nurse Assistant on staff to oversee the overall health and well-being of program participants. Older clients may also participate in “Young at Heart” recreational, health, and fitness activities, which are specifically geared to aging adults and senior citizens with special needs.
On-site practice is reinforced through community integration experiences including trips to the grocery store, community art fairs, the park, and a range of volunteer opportunities.
The program operates with a 1-to-6 on-site and 1-to-4 off-site staff-to-client ratio, depending on participant needs for personal care and supervision.
