Exceptional Children's Foundations Elects Four Community Members to its Board of Directors

The Exceptional Children's Foundation announced today that it has elected four new members to its board of directors. Joining the board for the first time are Karrmen Holiway and Anand Kapadia, while the organization welcomes back former board chairs Leslie Abell and Steven Rose.

ECF is one of California's largest nonprofit organizations serving children and adults with developmental, learning and emotional disabilities.

Holiway joins the board as a client representative, having lived at ECF's Westington Apartment facility for the past four years. She currently works at Pavilion's and hopes to attend Trade Tech College.

Kapadia is the managing director of real estate finance and securitization for Credit Suisse and manages the company's Los Angeles office. With 20 years' experience in real estate development, consulting and finance, Kapadia has provided consultation services to numerous American and international financial institutions. He graduated from New York University with a degree in economics and finance and a post-graduate degree in real estate development.

Returning board member Abell is a partner in the entertainment law firm of Myman, Abell, Fineman, Fox, Greenspan & Light, LLP. His relationship with ECF began a half century ago when his sister Patty was an ECF client. Abell previously served as ECF board chairman from 1992-1995 and again from 2002-2004, in addition to chairing board committees in programs, strategic planning, fund development, and budget and finance. He currently serves on the executive, audit and fund development committee and chairs the nomination committee. For his service, Abell was honored in 2006 with the ECF Humanitarian Award.

Former Culver City Mayor and current Chamber of Commerce President/CEO Rose returns to the ECF board after serving as its chair from 2000-2002. He has been involved in the organization as a volunteer and donor since 1978 and in 2005 was honored by ECF for his many years of service to the community. Rose is a Culver City council member and former chairman of the Culver City Redevelopment Agency. He is past president of the Culver City Historical Society and Culver City Jaycees, past chair of the Culver City Civil Service Commission and the Charter Review Committee, and served on the Brotman Medical Center Advisory Board.

"Our board plays a vitally important role in helping to guide our strategic course and making sure that our mission and values remain true," said ECF President and Chief Executive Officer Scott Bowling. "These four individuals each bring a unique understanding of the important role we play, and I am looking forward to working with them at this exciting time in ECF's history."
