Adult Services

Residential Services

ECF's Residential Services program offers adults with developmental disabilities a variety of living skills training and support services.  The goal of the program is to foster independence through full and proactive home and community involvement.

ECF manages two 13-unit apartment complexes, located in Los Angeles and Whittier. These individual apartment homes are the backdrop for ECF's Independent Living Program, where participants live and learn as they develop a wide range of life skills, including money mangement, community use, housekeeping, meal planning and preparation, personal care, and emergency response.  ECF supports individuals to use these skills to transition to a home of their own with less direct support.

For individuals who want independence but need more support with day-to-day tasks, ECF offers two Intermediate Care Facilities (ICF/DDH) that can serve a total of 18 residents in private bedrooms.  This model includes health-related services and consultation from licensed professionals representing a wide variety of disciplines-behavioral psychology, speech and language pathology, nursing, recreational therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and diet and nutrition.  These homes offer some autonomy while still providing education and supervision for meal preparation, community access, socialization, and emergency situations.

ECF's more intensive Supported Living Services help adults with developmental disabilities live successfully in their own community apartments and homes by providing individualized supervision and supports.
