Adult Services

Work Activity Programs

ECF's Work Activity Programs, also known as PAR Services for Packaging, Assembly, and Rework," offers adults with developmental disabilities the opportunity to "earn while they learn." Work Activity offers full-day programming five days each week. Participants are generally referred to ECF by their local Regional Center.

Program services include assessment of work and task-related skills, on-the-job training and support, on-site educational classes taught by a school district teacher, and ongoing case management and support.

Workers learn specific job tasks, as well as appropriate work habits and social skills, while fulfilling contract work from government and community employers. Participants perform an impressive range of tasks including blister packing, heat-sealing, poly bagging, shrink wrapping, collating, stuffing, fulfilment, and assembly. Based on their production rates, these workers earn a paycheck that provides strong motivation and a true sense of pride and self-esteem.

The two PAR sites offer modern equipment and an impressive 65,000 square feet of plant and warehouse space along with docking and palletizing services. Satisfied customers include Assemblies Unlimited, B.D. Marketing, Boise Cascade Office Products, Gary Mandel Promotional Concepts, Hand Services, Smash Box Cosmetics, Transilwrap, and the federal government's General Services Administration, just to name a few.
