EDUCATIONAL THERAPY
Educational Therapy is designed for children with learning disabilities and problems associated with dyslexia, non-verbal learning disorders, Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), language processing, anxiety disorders and reading and writing challenges. A Kayne Eras Center therapist will develop an individually-tailored program to help identify and improve these learning problems. Educational therapy works on the roots of learning difficulties and should not be mistaken for tutoring, which focuses on homework and classroom assignments as a basis for services. Educational therapy services may include:
- Remediation of learning disabilities
- Strategies for effective learning
- Case management
The cost of Educational Therapy services is determined on an individual basis after a thorough review by the Agency Director. Clients may pay privately or use funding provided through Regional Centers or School Districts.
BEHAVIOR INTERVENTION THERAPY:
The Behavior Intervention Therapy Department is designed to provide direct services for children who may be exhibiting maladaptive behaviors, difficulty with social integration, sensory integration dysfunction, non-specific learning disorders, expressive/receptive speech disorders, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, and issues related to Autism. Services are generally designated by the child's IEP, Regional Center assessment or through private contact from the parent with the agency director. Intervention may be in the school, home and/or community, and may include:
- Use of Applied Behavior Analysis to observe, define and measure behavior
- Use of Discrete Trial Training and/or Floor Time modalities
- Coordination of parent, teacher and behaviorist regarding child's needs and progress toward goals
- Development and implementation of a behavior plan
- Enhancement of social skills and peer relationships

The cost of Behavior Intervention services will be determined on an individual basis, and may be covered by the child's school district or Regional Center.
