The Exceptional Childrens Foundation (ECF) understands your concerns about Internet security, so we have employed the most current and secure technologies available to ensure your transactions are safe.
Secure Socket Layers
ECF uses Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) online technology, which encrypts the data you provide. This is the same technology that all major banks and financial institutions employ online. Any sensitive information, such as your credit card number, becomes unreadable to anyone who wrongly intercepts the information. SSL is supported by all major Web browsers, including Microsoft Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator. The site becomes locked while you are giving us your credit card information and unlocks only when you leave the secured area. One way to know when you are going to a secure area of a Website, is to look for a gold key or a gold padlock in the bottom right-hand corner of your browser window. Also, when you are in a secure area, the address bar at the top of your window will indicate "https" as opposed to "http."
Credit Card Transactions
All credit card transactions are processed by Authorize.net. A professional payment authorization service was chosen for added security and reliability. Only the purchase price and the credit card information provided by the customer is supplied to Authorize.net. Information collected during transactions is maintained in their database for accounting and billing purposes. Information from these transactions is not released to third parties. ECF does not maintain a copy of the credit card information on its servers.
Contact information is collected from a donor at the time of a donation in order to complete the transaction and allow proper receipting of the donors gift. This information is kept completely confidential by ECF and is never sold or distributed to any third party.
